COAL & CRUSH MINING

In the Year 2001 Pacific Ocean Group leased out 1048 acres of land on a long lease basis of 25 years, in Choa Saiden Shah area of the district Chakwal, known as the salt range coal fields which is spread on an area of around 260 Sq. km.

The entire area is well connected with roads and railways. The top seam is 0.30 meter thick the middle seam is 0.60 meter thick and the lower seam is up to 1 meter thick and is of relatively better quality. Reserves of the coal deposit in this area are approx. 235 Million Tons. Three of the biggest cement plants in the country are also located there and are large consumers of Coal.

As the price of oil is increasing the government of Pakistan is encouraging to setup coal fired power plants. This will substantially increase the local consumption of coal.

We have developed 7 mines up to March 2008, mining and selling approx. 490 Tons per day. We plan to increase our production to approx.1,500 Tons per day in the next 3 years. This will be done by increasing capacity of our existing mines and also developing new mines as well.

With the ever increasing energy costs, we see a very bright future of our mining business.
